Meg Somers

Meg has been a cherished member of the UCANDANCE family since 2004, joining at just three years old to begin her training under the guidance of Principal, Aliesha Spence. Over the years, Meg has grown into an integral part of the team, developing her skills and passion for dance while fostering a deep connection with the UCANDANCE community.

With experience across various dance genres - including jazz, contemporary, ballet, and tap (her favourite) - Meg has enjoyed a well-rounded training journey. She has also taught in the Tots and School Age programs, sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm with younger dancers.

A proud achiever, Meg has completed her Tap exams, up to Elementary level with the Australian Teachers of Dancing (ATOD) with outstanding results. Recently Meg upskilled her certifications & earned her Acrobatic Dance Association Beginner & Intermediate Acro teaching certification. In addition, she recently renewed and upskilled her Ready Set Dance, Ready Set Ballet, Ready Set Acro & Level 3 Certification, further enhancing her teaching expertise.

Outside of the studio, Meg works as a support worker at a local primary school, where she finds great fulfillment in supporting young learners. Meg is also studying her Bachelor of Primary Education.

Meg’s passion for working with children and dancers shines through as she creates a nurturing and encouraging environment. Meg is dedicated to helping students build confidence both in and outside the dance studio & inspiring our team to be the best teachers & leaders they can be.

Being Team leader of our Ready Set program is an exciting next step for Meg as she looks forward to guiding and nurturing our youngest dancers & teaching team in a safe, fun, and inspiring space.
